Alaska has only a few strip clubs, spread over long distances. Our directory lists five venues in three places: Anchorage, Fairbanks and Soldotna on the Kenai Peninsula. Anchorage has the most, as you would expect of the state’s largest city; outside it, you may have to drive a long way between clubs.
Rules and regulations
Alcohol in Alaska is regulated by the Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board under Title 4 of the Alaska Statutes. The board’s older regulations were repealed and replaced by a new chapter, 3 AAC 305, as part of a Title 4 overhaul that took effect on 1 January 2024. For exact rules on entertainment at venues serving alcohol, the control office is the authoritative source.
In Anchorage, the most detailed rules come from the city. Anchorage Municipal Code section 10.40.050 treats “adult cabarets” as adult-oriented establishments:
- An adult cabaret is defined as a venue featuring topless dancers, strippers or similar entertainers, and is expressly not a venue licensed to sell alcohol.
- A licensed adult-oriented establishment can lose its licence if alcohol is brought in, served or consumed on the premises, and it may not be connected to a bar or liquor outlet.
- Entertainers must stay at least four feet away from patrons.
- Nobody under 18 may enter, and the entertainment must not be visible from outside.
Anchorage used to require adult-oriented businesses to close between 2 and 6 a.m. In 2019 the Alaska Supreme Court ruled in Club SinRock v. Municipality of Anchorage that the city could not enforce that restriction against adult cabarets, holding that it violated free-speech protections in the Alaska Constitution. In short: Anchorage’s adult cabarets generally don’t serve alcohol, and each venue sets its own hours.

What to check before you go
- Confirm the club is open and its hours. Opening times vary from venue to venue, and some listings are several years old. Call before a long drive.
- Ask about the drinks policy. Whether a club serves alcohol depends on how it is licensed, and in Anchorage that is tied to the kind of entertainment it offers. Don’t assume every club has a bar.
- Bring ID and check the entry rules. Adult-oriented venues do not admit anyone under 18, and some set a higher age limit. Ask about cover charges and dance prices when you call.
