Our directory lists nine clubs in Connecticut, spread across eight towns and cities — from Stamford and Bridgeport in Fairfield County to Hartford, Vernon and Groton further north and east. This guide groups them by location and summarises the state rules that shape how clubs serving alcohol can operate. Those rules matter more here than in some other states, because Connecticut regulates nude entertainment mainly through its liquor permit system.
Connecticut rules on nudity and alcohol
Bars and other premises with a liquor permit are regulated by the Department of Consumer Protection through its Liquor Control Division. The General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Research summarised the department’s regulation on exotic dancing, Conn. Agencies Regs. § 30-6-A24, in a 2004 report. According to that summary:
- No one employed or used on a liquor-permit premises may be nude, or dressed so that the lower half of the breast, the genitals, the cleft of the buttocks, the anus, the vulva or pubic hair is exposed.
- Dancers and entertainers may not perform or simulate sexual acts, and may not touch, caress or fondle the breasts, buttocks, anus or genitals.
- Entertainers may perform only at fixed locations approved by the department, and not on the bar itself.
- Entertainers may not mingle with patrons unless the department waives this in writing.
- Permittees are held strictly accountable for conduct on their premises.
In short, full nudity combined with alcohol service is not permitted under the regulation as summarised. The same report notes these provisions apply only to liquor-permit establishments; towns can regulate adult uses through zoning even where no alcohol is sold. The regulation has since been restructured, so the current wording is best checked on the state’s official eRegulations portal.
At city level, Bridgeport requires a licence from its Health Department to operate a sexually oriented business, under Chapter 8.81 of its Code of Ordinances.

What to check before you go
- Confirm the club is still open and check its hours. Several listings have not been updated for years. Call ahead or check the club’s own website before you travel.
- Ask about the format and alcohol policy. State liquor rules limit what dancers may show where alcohol is served, and clubs differ in how they operate. If a venue advertises all-nude entertainment, ask directly what that means and whether it serves alcohol.
- Know the conduct rules. On liquor-permit premises, touching dancers’ intimate areas is prohibited, and dancers may be restricted from mingling with patrons. Staff will ask you to leave if these rules are broken.
