Bergen no longer has an operating strip club. After Dark, the city’s only gentlemen’s club, has closed. If you have found this page looking for a venue in Bergen, there is no longer one to go to.
We are leaving this page up rather than deleting it, because plenty of out-of-date listings elsewhere still show Bergen venues as open, and people are turning up to closed doors.
Where the nearest clubs are
The nearest operating venues are in Oslo, which has four clubs in the city centre: String Showbar, Lotus Showbar, Blaze and Diamond Showbar. Oslo is around 50 minutes by air from Bergen, or roughly seven hours by train on the Bergensbanen.

Why Bergen lost its club
Bergen was always a small market. The city built its clientele on the offshore oil and gas industry — engineers and crews rotating out to the North Sea rigs, passing through the city with money to spend. As that industry contracted and the workforce changed, the volume that supported a single club went with it.
Bergen also applied some of the strictest conditions in Norway. The authorities there required that nudity and alcohol service could not run at the same time, meaning fully nude stage shows could only start after the alcohol cut-off. That is a hard way to run a venue in a city that already has thin numbers.
Dancers looking for work in Norway
With Bergen closed, Oslo is where the Norwegian market now sits. Norway still has a reputation among travelling dancers as one of the best-earning countries in Europe, and the Oslo clubs recruit from across the continent.
